On February 17-24, 2017, a European Sanshou Tournament was held in Lutsk, Poland. Firudin Hasanov, third-year student of Khazar University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences majoring in translation studies, took first place and earned a gold medal in the event (85 kg).
We note that Firudin Hasanov is a winner of several international championships. He has been the Azerbaijani champion of his category 6 times and has won a gold medal in the 2013 European Championship in Bulgaria and in the 2015 tournament in Baku; and a silver medal in the 2016 adult world kickboxing championship in Kharkov.
Athletes from 17 countries participated in the Lutsk tournament. In addition to Firudin, nine athletes from Azerbaijan participated in the event. They have won a total of 9 medals in their weight classes, 6 gold and 3 silver.
