On February 15, 2017, a ceremony to celebrate the start of a new project of Thomson Reuters was at held at Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. The objective of the project is to help Azerbaijani scholars increase the number of publications in high impact journals; by the end of the project, scholars will be able to choose appropriate journals for their articles. A series of events will be organized at Azerbaijani universities within the framework of the project.
The first meeting of the event was organized at Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. The event was opened by Aygun Babazade, staff member of the Department of Science and Education of Thomson Reuters; she gave information about the organization and academic journals accredited by Thomson Reuters.
In the second half of the ceremony, Khayala Mammadova, assistant editor of the Khazar Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, spoke about the management principles, submission and publishing requirements of a scholarly journal and other practical issues.
