On December 23, 2016 from 10:00 to 17:00, an event called “Science Party” sponsored by the Youth Foundation of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic was held at Khazar University with the coordination of Khazar University Department of History and Archeology and the Career Development Center. The main objective of the event was to promote science and art among young people.
Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, opened the event. Then speeches were made by Professor Maisa Rahimova, Director of the ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, and Dr. Ahmad Sami Elayli, Representative of the Cultural and Educational Relations Center under the Embassy of Egypt to Azerbaijan.
Participants in the event included representatives from Khazar University, Azerbaijan State Economics University, Baku Girls’ University, Baku State University, State Administration Academy, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, the Shamakhi Branch of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, MIRAS Public Union, Egyptian Cultural Center, Gala Preserve, Gobustan Preserve, the State History Museum, and ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography.
The event began with an art exhibit. Art works by Khazar University students and representatives of other schools, universities and institutions were displayed to the guests. Then academic and popular seminars were held on fields such as natural sciences, humanities, technology, etc. As part of the exhibition, Rehman Abdullayev, academic secretary of Gobustan National Park, made a presentation on “Application of 3D methods in documentation of petroglyphs.” Then the Khazar University girls’ dance ensemble performed an original historic dance. Later Sevinj Safarova, Orkhan Ismayilov and Fazil Khalilov, students of Khazar University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, made a presentation on “Alternative Energy and its Uses.” Near the end of the event, an intellectual competition on the history, geography, cultures and literatures of the Ancient East was held. Winners received special awards.
At the end of the event, all the participants and organizers received certificates.
