Khazar University Instructor’s Article Published in Ukraine

Gardashkhan Azizkhanli, instructor for Khazar University’s Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature, wrote an article entitled “Социальный контент в Азербайджанской гражданской лирике второй половины XX- го века” (Social Content in Azerbaijani Patriotic Poetry of the Late 20th Century) which was published by the Мова i культура (Language and Culture) journal of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University (2016, volume V, number 22, pp 165-173). The article covers Azerbaijani patriotic poetry of the late 20th century by authors such as Mammad Araz, Sohrab Tahir, and Mammad Ismayil; shows the social and moral spheres that make up the basic philosophy of patriotic poetry while drawing parallels between poets’ identity and their characters; and explains the leading roles played by works of several of the abovementioned poets in protecting the unity of national values.
