On November 14, 2016, the Khazar University Research seminar/Journal Club held a routine meeting. In the first half of the seminar, Saida Orujova of the Library and Information Center made a presentation on “Performing Searches using Electronic Resources” for graduate students, researchers and instructors of the Biology Department. The presentation covered the electronic catalog, its database and the DSpace electronic archive. In the second part of her training, the practiced completing tasks using what they had learned.
Then Parvana Bakhshaliyeva, PhD student of the Biology Department, gave an analysis and evaluation of research results of the article “Genetic Characteristics of Phenylketonuria among Newborns.”
Later Dr. Irada Khalilova, Head of the Biology Department and Director of the Cell Pathology Research Center, made a presentation on her paper “Oxidized glutathione and uric acid as biomarkers of early cystic fibrosis lung disease” which was accepted to Cystic Fibrosis journal in Europe. She noted the significance of early diagnosis of cystic fibrosis. The seminar concluded with discussions and a plan for which PhD students will share their work in the next seminar.
