On October 6-7, 2016, Araz Aslanli, instructor of the Department of History and Archeology at Khazar University, participated in the “Turkish Republics in the 25th Year of Independence” International Symposium in Ankara.
The organizers and supporters of the event included Ahmet Yesevi University, Turkic council, International Turkic Academy, TÜRKPA, TÜRKSOY, TİKA, Turkish Historical Society, and The Ankara Center for Political and Economic Research.
At the opening ceremony of the symposium, speeches were made by Ibrahim Kalin, Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Presidential Administration and Press Secretary of the President; Ambassadors to Turkey of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan; Yalcin Topcu, Senior Advisor to the President of Turkey; Gunay Efendiyeva, President of the Turkish Cultural and Heritage Foundation; and others.
Araz Aslanli, instructor of the Department of History and Archeology, gave a lecture entitled “Causes and Effects of the Lack of Resolution of the Karabakh Conflict” in which he explained reasons why the problem remains unresolved and detailed the negative consequences and risks of the conflict for the region and the world.
